Happy Memorial Day

The Last Alliance wants everyone to take a moment as we draw this Memorial Day to a close.   Remember those who have served and defended freedoms which we would be without were it not for the extreme sacrifice so many made.  If you were not able to decorate a grave of a veteran today, then say a prayer, light incense, or do whatever it is that your belief or religion mandates as a sign of respect for an Honored soul.  Do not forget them, but rather show your Honor, Loyalty, and Trust for them as they did for you without even knowing you would be here reading this right now.  In this, we call to our brothers and sisters of metal to remember them.

From all of us to all of you...  Have a good night on this glorious Memorial Day.

Fan Submitted Question

Q. When is your next gig?

A. Well, our next gig is beginning to look like it will be somewhere in Akron, on Feb. 10th. We don’t have an address yet, so we haven’t posted it yet, but keep coming back to the site, as soon as we have all the information, we will make a posting.

Q. Which song was the toughest to write?

A. That’s a tough question. Every song we’ve done, including a bunch we don’t have on the website yet, have had unique challenges for us to overcome.  Personally, I would have to choose “Faded”, because several of the riffs in that song were written back in 1994. Since then, I had tried to finish the song repeatedly, but I was never happy with the final results, so it was put on the back musical burner. I was finally able to pull the song together with the help of Knight Soul and our old guitarist Sean Snyder. It came together so smoothly, it was almost like I was meant to hold it until we formed this project.  As a band though, I think the most challenging song would have to be “The Journey”. It was very much a journey in itself to complete this song, and we had to do so under a rigorous time limit. I think the final results though are great!  I can’t neglect to mention another song which plagues our existence even to this day… Back in the early parts of 2009, we started writing a song called “Hybrid Angel”. We have played this song several times live, but it’s always been an instrumental, because we’ve never managed to finish the lyrics. Finish the music for the song took forever, and has gone through at least three revisions. Hopefully someday, we can release this one for you to all hear.

Q. What song was the easiest to write?

A. Most people don’t know this, but Knight Soul is a hell of a composer. When he and I formed ‘The Alliance’, he had already finished a great number of our songs. Music Box, Lyrics for a Love Lost, Epic Blue, were all his before the project formed. All we had to do, was write complimenting guitars to go along with what he already had. So, that was really easy, and didn’t take long at all.  However, I think the easiest we’ve done to date, is a song we started, and finished writing just yesterday, in less than four hours. It still doesn’t have lyrics, but I think it’s going to be fantastic as soon as we finish them. The song is called “Dawn of a New Age”, watch for it on the website!

Thank you for your interest and support! If you have more questions; don’t be shy!

Awaiting our Headliner Gig

I know it's been a while since you've heard from us, but we've been hard at work creating a few new pieces of music which we have started releasing since our Harbor Inn show.  We also had a fantastic show with Epica, but that will be in a follow up blog.  This message is just to let everyone know that because of your loyalty and dedication which helped us succeed at the Battle of the Bands, we have been promised a headliner or co-headliner show in the near future.  We promise will post more information about that show once we have a date solidified.  We appreciate all of you; our extended family of metal!
